Eating Out
There’s plenty to be savoured in Sheffield. Meadowhall shopping centre is just a short distance from our Sheffield student accommodation and boasts a large food court where eateries ranging from Café Rouge to KFC can be enjoyed. Lovers of international cuisine can have their taste buds tickled at VeroGusto or the recently opened Cosmo. Or for budget-friendly traditional British fare check out the handmade pies on offer at the Wig and Pen pub on their famous ‘Wig Wednesdays’.
Sporting Spotlights
Home to the world’s oldest football club (Sheffield FC), the World Snooker Championships (at the Crucible Theatre), and the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield has it all covered when it comes to sport. As well as the league football clubs Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday, the city also boasts some top-notch teams when it comes to ice hockey, basketball and rugby league. And in our well-located properties you’ll never be far from your favourite sporting event.
Culture Corners
The nationally renowned Lyceum and Crucible theatres take pride of place in England’s largest theatre complex outside London, Tudor Square. Motorpoint Arena is hard to beat for music, having hosted a range of legendary artists from The Beach Boys to Bruno Mars. Not far from our properties you’ll also find numerous art galleries and concert venues to explore and enjoy. And lovers of nature can spend time among the 2,000 species of plants housed at the beautiful Winter Garden.
Evening Entertainment
From fancy-dress theme nights to cutting-edge clubbing, Sheffield really comes alive at night. Some of the best student nights are at the union bars of the two universities, but there’s plenty of partying going on beyond, and all within easy reach of our student flats in Sheffield. Check out the O2 Academy for great live music; or head over to Embrace, The Leadmill or Corporation for cheap drinks and a range of tunes played across multiple rooms.

Getting Around
Accessing the city is easy thanks to the Supertram network. If you’re exploring further afield Sheffield train station provides routes travelling to: London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Plymouth, Bristol, Birmingham and Leeds. Bus travel is made cheaper with a Stagecoach Unirider which can be purchased termly or yearly and provides travel on all Stagecoach buses in South Yorkshire for around just £1 per day. Or you can even take to the skies with Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield.
Health and Wellbeing
With the city’s two main hospitals – the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Northern General Hospital – only a short distance from our student accommodation in Sheffield you’ll never be far from the help you might need. Both Sheffield Hallam University and The University of Sheffield have drop-in health centres on campus as well. And if you need to pick up medication there’s the Wicker late-night pharmacy where you can get prescriptions until 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8pm on Sundays.
Everything you need is within easy reach of our properties. Take a short trip to the city centre and you’ll find a generous choice of supermarkets, including: Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, ASDA, Aldi, and a 24-hour Tesco. There is also a variety of continental stores and a Chinese supermarket. If you fancy treating yourself you’ll be spoilt for choice with takeaways. And if you need a bank or pharmacy just take a short stroll over to the Fargate precinct.
High Street Highlights
For a huge variety of clothes shops and electrical stores make sure you visit Meadowhall. With over 280 shops under one roof you’ll find everything from Argos to Zara catered for. If you prefer independent outlets Division Street and West Street feature an extensive range of boutique shops. And for a smorgasbord of popular cafés, independent shops and high street stores you’ll find Sheffield High Street bustling with bargains and easily accessible from our properties.
