Eating Out
The seafront offers a variety of pubs and restaurants that provide a perfect halfway house for windswept students. JD’s Grill is an independent restaurant with over 100 different burgers for you to enjoy. If you fancy something more European, the renowned Bella Italia is just a short walk from our Plymouth student accommodation and often has some good deals for students. There’s also Shirley Valentine's Taverna for authentic Greek and Turkish dining, or the Nibana Indian Restaurant for some of the best curries on offer in the city. 
Sporting Spotlights
The local area has a host of exciting sports and activities to get involved in, such as skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, horse riding and rock climbing, and you’ll easily be able to get there from our student flats. Plymouth’s coastal location means you can take part in surfing, sailing, and scuba diving. Sports fans are well catered for as Plymouth is home to Plymouth Argyle Football Team, Plymouth Albion Rugby FC and Plymouth Raiders Basketball Team.
Culture Corners
There are several glorious beaches within a few miles of Plymouth and on the popular north coast of Cornwall. Entertainment options are plentiful, with a museum, art galleries and theatres. The nationally acclaimed Theatre Royal showcases some of the UK’s biggest and best productions throughout the year, whilst the Pavilions have leisure and entertainment under one roof with its packed event diary of live gigs and shows, ice rink and fun pool.
Evening Entertainment
For those seeking student nightlife, there are a variety of bars within short walking distance from our student accommodation, such as The Skiving Scholar and Voodoo Lounge, as well as the Barbican about 10-minutes’ walk away with venues such as the Live Lounge and The Cider Press hosting a range of bands and open mic nights.

Getting Around
Plymouth is just a short journey from Dartmouth, Torquay, St Austell and Wadebridge. Dartmoor National Park is just north of the city. You’re not far from the city’s train station and our property staff will be happy to offer guidance on where you can find trains, buses and taxis in the local area. The great city centre location of our properties however means you needn’t rely on public transport for getting to university or popular socialising venues.
Health and Wellbeing
There are a number of doctor’s surgeries and dentists in short walking distance from our Plymouth properties. At the bottom of the city centre is also The Zone, a drop in centre for 13-25 year olds in the city that offers free counselling services, sexual health drop-in clinics and emotional support and advice. Derriford Hospital provides Accident and Emergency services and is also nearby. The hospital provides ample car parking and is also accessible by bus from the city centre.
There’s a Spar convenience supermarket very near our properties, so you can grab the essentials without venturing far from home. A short walk to Drake Circus provides quick access to banks, building societies and chemists. The Plymouth Central Library and Museum is just by the campus offering free entry all year round. Larger supermarkets can be found in the city centre, including: Asda, Sainsbury’s and Co-op. These are all either a short walk or taxi ride away.
High Street Highlights
The Barbican area features independent shops and galleries. Plymouth features many independent retailers as well as national brands and high street names in its varied shopping areas. The city is mainly pedestrianised and well laid out with a range of shopping and restaurants to suit all tastes. An extensive range of independent and specialist retailers are found in the Independent Quarter, and unique pieces of art can be obtained in the Barbican’s Historic Quarter. Plymouth’s landmark shopping centre is Drake Circus which hosts a large range of shops including fashion, gaming, books and jewellery, and many places to eat.
