Eating Out
Glasgow has all tastes and budgets catered for. For special occasions there’s Guy’s Restaurant, which even has a ‘Graduation Menu 2014’ especially for students. If you’re after authentic international cuisine, you’ll be spoilt for choice with Mother India's Café offering Indian tapas and dining on their fully-licensed premises, Café Andaluz serving up delicious Spanish tapas and paella, and Amore offering Italian delights in a friendly modern setting. And that’s just for starters.
Sporting Spotlights
There’s a strong and proud sporting culture in Glasgow. As European Capital of Sport 2003 and 2014 Commonwealth Games host, the city boasts a number of facilities just a short distance from our student accommodation in Glasgow. There are plenty of private gyms including Pure Gym or Virgin Active, as well as the University of Glasgow gym which has a swimming pool, sauna, squash courts and much more. For football fans the city’s three major football stadiums host all the action.
Culture Corners
The Victorian architecture is just the beginning of the cultural wonders in Glasgow. Home to the world’s first Museum of Religious Life and Art, the city boasts modern marvels like the 18-screen cinema at Cineworld, alongside historic landmarks like the memorial to William Wallace. Music is diverse in Glasgow with venues like the O2 Glasgow and King Tut’s Wha Wha Hut hosting a variety of acts. And open spaces like Glasgow Green are ideal for relaxing after a day’s sightseeing.
Evening Entertainment
For crazy foam parties, a huge dance floor and different themes every night of the week, you can’t beat The Garage, Scotland’s biggest nightclub. Stick with Sauchiehall Street on Thursdays for the ABC’s student-friendly Jellybaby night. If you just want to sing your heart out, The Horseshoe Bar is a popular karaoke venue not far from our student flats. Or if classy cocktails are more your thing, check out Metropolitan for some sophisticated socialising.

Getting Around
Underground, overground or through the air, getting around in Glasgow is easy. The city’s underground rail network allows quick access to many areas of the city. Glasgow’s Queen Street train station is right in the heart of the city and has frequent services travelling all over the UK. For local and national destinations Buchanan Bus Station is easy to get to from our student accommodation. And for overseas get-aways there are links to Glasgow Airport nearby our properties.
Health and Wellbeing
We’ve made sure our Glasgow accommodation is close to local hospitals and health centres so you are near to any help you may need. Both the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the Western Infirmary have 24-hour Accident and Emergency departments, and you can speak to GPs in the healthcare areas of both hospitals. There are also many local dentists, and our property teams will be happy to help you find the closest one to you.
You’ll have a choice of nearby supermarkets like: Aldi, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s when you live with us in Glasgow. Banks, post offices and other useful shops are also just a short distance away. And as well as the on-campus libraries at Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University you’ll find the city’s main library, the Mitchell Library, to have an extensive range of over 1.3 million books, making it one of the largest public reference libraries in Europe.
High Street Highlights
Only a city as chic as Glasgow could be home to the Style Mile, a centrally-located square mile of over 200 shops, many of which are exclusive to this amazing city. Some highlights you’ll want to check out are: the St Enoch Centre – which remains one of the largest glass structures in Europe – Buchanan Galleries – which is home to Hollister, Mango, Bare Minerals and many more renowned retailers – and House of Fraser – offering department store delights over five floors.
